Middle School at Hill Top

Grades 5–8 | Building Foundations for Confidence, Connection, and Growth

At Hill Top Prep, Middle School isn’t just a stepping stone—it’s a launchpad. Designed for neurodiverse learners in grades 5 through 8, our Middle School program nurtures students’ academic potential, social-emotional development, and self-awareness in a supportive and highly individualized environment.

Whether a student is navigating school anxiety, executive functioning challenges, or simply needs a place where they’re truly understood, our middle school helps them reconnect with learning, and rediscover what’s possible.

What Sets Our Middle School Apart

With class sizes averaging 6–8 students, teachers can provide responsive, personalized instruction aligned with each student’s IEP, academic level, and processing style.

Our curriculum is based on Pennsylvania state standards and designed to meet students where they are, while challenging them to grow. Core subjects include English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts, with integrated support for literacy, numeracy, and executive functioning.

Social development is woven into everything we do. From structured social skills groups to real-world practice during lunch, mentor, and clubs, students learn to navigate friendships, manage frustration, and advocate for themselves.

Organization, time management, and study strategies are explicitly taught and consistently reinforced throughout the day—skills that many of our students struggle with and learn to master here.

Students participate in art, music, physical education, and digital literacy throughout the week. Electives rotate and may include makerspace projects, theater, movement, and mindfulness.

Field trips, community-based instruction, and interdisciplinary projects help students connect classroom learning to the real world, building both engagement and independence.
