Clinic Support Services Offered

Social-Emotional Support for Lifelong Well-Being

At Hill Top Preparatory School, we understand that academic success is closely tied to emotional well-being. For neurodiverse students, social-emotional growth is not a side benefit—it’s a central part of their education. That’s why our Counseling Department provides wraparound support designed to help students thrive in every aspect of life: academically, socially, and emotionally.

Every Hill Top student participates in Perspectives, a year-long course designed to promote social-emotional growth and personal insight. The course integrates:

  • Small-group counseling sessions led by trained professionals
  • Structured SEL (Social Emotional Learning) curriculum
  • Active discussions, reflections, and peer collaboration

Topics may include:

  • Self-awareness & emotional regulation
  • Understanding others' perspectives
  • Building and maintaining healthy relationships
  • Navigating conflict and peer dynamics
  • Contributing positively to the school and broader community

As students progress through Hill Top, our clinical support evolves with them. Whether they’re working through anxiety, managing social expectations, or developing independence, the Counseling Team is there every step of the way—providing tools, structure, and connections tailored to each student’s stage of development.

Compassionate On-Campus Care for Every Student

At Hill Top Preparatory School, we prioritize the health and well-being of our students as part of our whole-child approach to education. Our full-time School Nurse (RN) plays a key role in ensuring students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn, every day.

Whether managing daily medications, addressing minor illnesses, or supporting students with chronic conditions, our nurse works closely with faculty, families, and the Clinical Team to provide responsive, individualized care. She also helps students develop healthy habits and confidence in advocating for their needs—an important step toward independence.

For students with medical needs or those simply needing a moment to reset, our Nurse’s Office offers a calm, caring environment right on campus.

Building Skills for Independence, Regulation & Confidence

Occupational therapy (OT) at Hill Top Prep is an add-on service available to students for an additional fee. Provided by our on-staff occupational therapist, OT supports the development of functional, executive, and social-emotional skills that help neurodiverse students succeed in school and beyond.

Through individualized sessions and classroom collaboration, OT services focus on:

  • Emotional and sensory regulation
  • Time management and organization
  • Fine and gross motor coordination
  • Daily living and self-care skills
  • Increased independence and self-awareness

By integrating OT support into the Hill Top experience, we empower students to build confidence and take ownership of their routines, goals, and growth.

Enhancing Communication, Social Confidence & Self-Advocacy

Speech and language support is available at Hill Top as an add-on service through a partnership with Grow Now Therapy Services, a provider experienced in supporting neurodiverse students.

For an additional fee, students may receive targeted support in:

  • Pragmatic (social) language and conversation
  • Perspective-taking and nonverbal cues
  • Verbal organization and expressive language
  • Self-advocacy and communication in group settings

Grow Now clinicians collaborate with Hill Top staff to ensure services are integrated into the student’s broader learning and social development plan. Support can be provided through individual sessions or in a consultative model based on student needs.
